Plan your Florida winter vacation now

After weeks of snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and gray skies in the northern states, a Florida winter vacation sounds amazing. But don’t wait until winter weather has you at your breaking point before you plan a trip. Waiting too long could mean fewer options and higher prices.

Snowbirds and vacationers flock to Southwest Florida in the winter to soak in the sunshine and escape shoveling snow. The winters are warm and dry, with some cooler, but rarely freezing, temps. A “cold” spell here is temperatures in the 60s. On the rare occasions the temperature drops near freezing, it doesn’t last long.

With the warm climate, plenty of sunshine, and blue skies, it’s no wonder it is a popular destination. Visitors to Naples enjoy a small-town feel with shopping and dining options that rival the largest cities.

We have people who return to the Inn at Pelican Bay each year to escape the cold. It’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces as well as meet new guests. Our guests enjoy being so close to everything and appreciate our excellent customer service. With only 100 rooms, our upscale award-winning hotel books fast.

Planning ahead is the best way to make sure your desired dates are available and that you can get the room you want at the best price.

Booking in advance can help you save on airline tickets as well. Don’t expect to get good deals on last-minute tickets. Prices are expected to continue going up this winter, according to a CNN report.

When booking a trip, the best day to search for flights is Sunday and the best days to travel domestically are Tuesday or Wednesday, according to Reader’s Digest. They also report that the cheapest month to travel domestically is January. Experts suggest planning at least 30 days ahead of time.

If you need a rental car for your trip, booking early can help ensure a vehicle is available and it gives you time to shop for the best deal.

We hope to see you this winter at the Inn at Pelican Bay! Check our rates and availability.
